The pump does not come with adaptors for the outlet to match up with your existing hoses...you have to go to a hardware store for fittings to hook it up. Most other reputable manufacturers provide them with the pump.

I have used this pump to drain my in-ground pond for my water fountain and it did the job great until it couldn't get the last little bit, which I had to use my wet-vac to remove. My brother-in-law needed some help removing water from his swimming pool when his pump couldn't get below a certain level... this pump did the job except for the last little bit and we used a wet-vac for that as well. Worth the money.

I bought the Beckett Versa Gold Series model number G535AG20 535 GPH Submersible Pump to replace a similar Versa pump that had been running for at least several years before giving up the ghost (this previous pump was installed by the prior owner of our house). Installed in Dec 2010, in a small outdoor pond. The pump is connected to an in-line UV filter to keep the algae away. Temperatures here in La Jolla never go below freezing, so we run it on a timer that turns the pump on for 8 hours/day, 24/7 year round. It seized up a couple days ago. I pulled it out of the pond and could see no visible damage. I removed the weed guard on the thing and the propeller seemed fine, with no debris or other obstructions. I could spin it with my finger just fine. When I plug it in, the motor hums but it doesn't spin. I wish this thing would last more than a year...

This pump features a dry rotor (sealed), is oil less, and has a UL listed, 3 prong cord with ground. It has a half inch MNPT discharge , accepts 3/4 inch I.D. hose, has screened suction, and belongs to Beckett's Versa Gold Series. The pump is perfect for large ponds, small waterfalls, fountain nozzles, and other water features and has a lift of up to 12.4 feet. It can be used for ponds as large as 500 gallons. Its filters are designed to improve the efficiency and life of the pump and are easily disassembled for cleaning. Optional MFB235 filter extends pump life. This pump also boasts a direct drive, epoxy encapsulated design, an inlet screen designed for continuous duty, and a ball bearing motor matched to a dynamic shaft seal.
